Baxter was the first dog I rescued, so you can imagine how special he is to me! In short, Baxter was abused by the owner he was rescued from, so there were few Baxter would tolerate--there were even fewer he personally loved. Baxter didn't like dozens of dogs around him--like you will find at most establishments, and I know he was not alone. Even though Baxter is no longer with us, Baxter's Bark House will always be a smaller circle. Your little buddy will have enough friends to be worn out, but not enough to be overwhelmed.
Supervised doggy daycare with doggy friends, where they play the day away. Is your dog elderly or easily frightened? Never fear, as the world's most gentle Basset Hound, Arthur, is on staff 24/7. As you can see, this chonky boi made it very clear to be paid ONLY in food. Your dog can go in and out of the house at will through doggy doors. Where they stay all day is up to them! Inside has plenty of cozy dog beds. Outside has plenty of toys, a lot of room to run, and special gadgets which will guarantee tons of fun!
Does your usual dog boarding facility keep your dog in a kennel for too many hours of the day? As long as your pooch is well behaved, they will not spend a minute inside one--not even at night. Just like with doggy day care, supervised roaming in and out of the house is up to them! At night, they will all come inside my house to sleep.
As a former Army Paratrooper and Corrections Officer, securing your best buddy and my Arthur are at the top of my list. My property is surveilled by multiple indoor and outdoor cameras. I have a 6-foot fence which have privacy covers over them. Each gate is secured with combination locks, and I have installed anti-digging devices in portions of the fencing to halt any naughty pups who attempt to tunnel out to freedom. Finally, I have also installed motion detector lights throughout the entire property. I will never lose track of our pups when it is dark outside.

-Leptospirosis.
To make sure your pup is able to get along with all the guests at Baxter's Bark House, your pup will first be required to spend time with only myself. When I am confident that your pup is not human aggressive, your pup will then spend time with my Arthur and will be closely monitored by only myself. This all will need to occur without you, because their time here will also take place without you and I need to know how they will behave without mommy or daddy watching. You will be on the premises when this test takes place, but your pup will not be aware of your presence. At any point, I reserve the right to deny service to any dog which presents any form of danger toward myself or other dogs.
All guests must be 10 months or older to enter the premises.
All guests over the age of 1 year must be spayed or neutered. This is for the protection of all guests. If your pup is less than a year old and not spayed or neutered, but is from a large breed, whether they will be eligible to be a guest or not will be at my discretion.
Breed restrictions are as follows:
-American Bully
-American Pit Bull Terrier
-American Staffordshire Terrier
-Staffordshire Bull Terrier
-American Bulldog
-American Rottweiler
-German Rottweiler
-Roman Rottweiler
I am aware that some of the sweetest dogs I have ever met are of these breeds, but due to the nationwide statistics of deadly mauling occurrences, I cannot allow these breeds on the premises. I am truly sorry if your sweet pup is one of these breeds which I have to turn away.
